The food market at Community Wise is on the the 12th July from 10am-2.00pm. Please note the extended time. We hope that people will come along and buy some food and, perhaps stay and eat lunch at Community Wise on Thursday. This is a growing market and an exciting project. There will be lots to choose from, including sausages and bacon, fresh vegetables and fruit, cakes, scones, chutneys and jams, meze and some other cooked savoury items. The Community Wise foodmarket is held every month on the 2nd Thursday. Refreshments are available all morning. Many people now place orders for food items with our regular traders ahead of time and collect on the day.
Our free English language lessons for people wanting to learn basic English have now finished for the summer. They were a big success and we will be hosting these classes again on Thursday mornings from September. This is a ten week course with everything provided and a certificate at the end. Please contact us on 01323 722924 or email on: firstname.lastname@example.org for further details and to register interest for the next term of classes.
Community Wise hosts Little Stones Parent and toddler group on Tuesday mornings during school term times. These will shortly be coming to an end as school holidays start, but come along and meet people before it closes. Bumps and babes are also welcome and a number of children are accompanied by grandparents. The cost is £1.50 per family.
Wise Buys Community Shop at Community Wise is staffed by a team of volunteers headed by our shop manageress, Rita Lanaway. We sell quality second hand clothes and household items donated by the generous community in Old town.
