COMMUNITY WISE IS THE PLACE FOR WISE BUYS
Wise Buys is the community shop at Community Wise. Rita Lanaway, the manager, is one of the staff of Community Wise and she is assisted by a huge team of volunteers who make the shop run.
All proceeds from the shop go to Community Wise. One of the values of the shop is to sell needed goods at very affordable prices in order to benefit the community and to see this form of recycling work well. Another value of Wise Buys is to actively create community. Our volunteers are friendly and helpful, and see the value in what they do, and in who they serve in the shop.
The shop is much larger than it looks from the outside. It sells:
- Women’s clothing
- Men’s clothing
- Children’s clothing
- Dressing up and occasion clothing
- Shoes and Bags
- Toys and puzzles
- Household linens
- Books, CDs, Records
- Household goods – stuff for every room in the house: bedlinens, table cloths, teatowels, kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery, light bulbs – you name it we’ve probably got it.
- Electrical goods, lighting and equipment
- Bric-a-Brac – decorative and useful new and pre-loved items
Come along and browse, say hello and make new friends. Make your purchases wise buys. Join in! Opening hours are as follows:
Mondays 10am-1pm, 2-4pm
Tuesdays 10am-1pm, 2-4pm
Thursdays 10am-1pm, 2-4pm
Fridays 10am-1pm, 2-4pm
Please note, the shop is not open on bank holidays, nor the last two weeks in August. This year, the shop will be closed from the 19th-30th August and re-opens at the August village market on the 31st August 10am ready with fresh goods and smiling faces.
