COMMUNITY WISE IS A SOCIAL AND A CONNECTED COMMUNITY
We have a Ladies club which meets on Tuesday afternoons monthly
Living Stones Community Church meets on Sunday mornings 10.30am. Everyone is welcome. There’s a Sunday school for children, and lively and engaging worship.
Community Wise hosts Lunch Positive on Saturday mornings monthly.
On the last Saturday each month, Community Wise is the venue for the Motcombe Village Market 10am-12.30pm. Quality goods and produce, unique craft items. This is a wonderful opportunity to make community by supporting local traders and to meet with your friends or make friends over coffee. Refreshments are available all morning.
COMMUNITY WISE IS AN ASSET FOR THE COMMUNITY AND THE PLACE TO GIVE TO THE COMMUNITY
Community wise is a venue for children and family parties. Our two large halls are available for hire and come with fully equipped kitchens. In addition, we have two large classrooms, with incorporated equipped kitchenettes, that can be hired, and also two smaller seminar rooms that have refrigerators and coffee/tea making facilities. Charges depend upon the day of the week, the time of the day and the size of the room.
Local businesses, public sector organisations and charities use and hire our premises for meetings and to deliver services knowing that our facilities are flexible and that we aim to accommodate any specific requirement in a professional and helpful manner. We have ample comfortable seating and tables, crockery and cutlery.
Community Wise is also the place for NHS services. We host a children and adolescent mental health drop in service, Health in Mind services, activity groups for children. In addition to NHS services, we also host mediation services, counselling services, separated parents information services, carers support group, and family group conferences – the latter two delivered by social services.
Wise Buys at Community Wise is a fantastic community shop, offering all kinds of household goods, books and clothing to the public at very low cost. These goods are all donated by the public and this is an excellent opportunity for recycling no-longer-needed belongings. Wise Buys is staffed by a crew of friendly and dedicated volunteers under the direction of the shop manager. At the Village Market the shop has a presence delivering one-off sales.
We welcome donations of unwanted goods, clothing and books at Community Wise. Your donations contribute hugely to the income of the centre which, in turn, allows us to give back to the community.
